Why pay per wash through salt season

Road salt is not a one-time event in New England. It goes down all winter, and the undercarriage needs regular cleaning to keep up. Paying each time you pull up works fine when you only come twice a season. If you are washing often, it adds up at every kiosk stop.

A membership takes the decision out of it. Pull in when the car needs it, scan, and go. Members also get the vacuums for free. Pricing is at the kiosk and the office, so ask there or call the barn and someone will walk you through it.

One car, one tag, one wash a day

The membership covers one vehicle, and it covers one wash per day. A tag goes on the windshield, and the kiosk reads it when you roll up. The tag does not transfer to another vehicle.

It renews every month on the date you originally bought it, so there is no calendar of renewal dates to keep track of. Someone else can bring your car through the tunnel for you, but the membership cannot be used on a different vehicle.

Getting a new car? Stop at the office any day between 9 and 5, or flag down an attendant before you reach the kiosks, and they will move the membership to the new vehicle.

The fine print, in plain words

To cancel, send written notice at least 10 days before your billing date. Email mickey@mickeyscarwash.com, or mail it to 16 Galaxy Pass, Sutton, MA 01590. Ten days is the cutoff, so plan ahead of your billing date.

The tunnel closes now and then for weather or maintenance. There are no refunds or credits for those closures, which is worth knowing before you sign up. The tunnel runs 7am to 7pm daily, weather permitting, and calling (508) 571-1134 before a marginal-weather drive saves a trip.
